In the home building business, real success depends not only on construction expertise and business savvy, but also on a myriad of other factors working in harmony. Because it is a business that involves interpreting the vision of another person and coordinating a diverse team of professionals who work as a team to transform the vision into reality, it takes extraordinary proficiency in organization and communication.

According to Veronica Elwell, CEO of Chateau Luxury Homes, "We meet with our home buyers and explore in detail what their tastes are, and how they plan to live in their home. We take time to build a relationship, to talk over dinner. We are also fortunate to have wonderful past customers who allow our new home buyers to tour their homes. We take time to listen and get to know the entire family so we can build a custom home that dovetails perfectly with their lifestyle. Maybe they enjoy formal indoor entertaining, and a large formal dining area with a grand gourmet kitchen is important to them. Or perhaps they prefer more casual outdoor gatherings, in which case, they may may want to consider an outdoor kitchen, multiple entertaining areas, a pool cabana or an outdoor media center. Every family is different and has its own unique personality, almost like an individual, but with additional complexities of multiple people with different needs and desires. By investing time in this stage of the planning process, we are able to learn the details of our home buyers' lifestyle that make it special and design and buld their new home around them."

Organization also pays off, for the homeowner and everyone involved in the home "We go to extraordinary lengths to ensure that each job flows smoothly and efficiently," notes Veronica. "Paying extra attention to the business side of building benefits everyone. The architect sees a final product that follows the spirit of the original vision, the subcontractors get in and out with no down time, increasing their profit margin and providing incentive to offer their services at the lowest possible and the customer knows exactly what the job will cost and precisely when it will be finished."

Chateau Luxury Homes currently builds upscale custom homes in Lakeridge, a master-planned lakeside community on Joe Pool Lake. At one of the highest elevations within a 100 miles, the community provides panoramic vistas of the Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth skylines, and by night, a reflection of the metroplex lights sparkles on the lakes surface. Many Lake Ridge home sites also afford spectacular views of Joe Pool Lake and the Tangle ridge Golf Club, rated among the top two golf courses in the state by Golf Digest. Home buyers are drawn to Lake Ridge's country setting, but also enjoy all the culture, conveniences and amenities of the metroplex since it's just a short drive to the Mid-Cities area, 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, and 30 minutes from downtown Fort Worth or the DFW International Airport. Joe Pool Lake provides more than 7,500 acres of recreational opportunities-boating, fishing, sailing, skiing, windsurfing or just enjoying a romantic sunset. For watersports enthusiasts, there is a marina that rents ski boats, paddle boats, jet ships, pontoon boats and a houseboat for family activities, as well as a ship's store and restaurant. Yearly boat slip rentals are also available.

Located within Lake Ridge is Valley Ridge Park, a 154-acre park featuring sports fields and playgrounds, walking and biking trails, a fishing pond with pier and more. Nearby Cedar Hill State Park and Lynn Creek Marina, both on Joe Pool Lake, provide great lakefront camping, picknicking and hiking.

Veronica has been involved in the home building business since 1986. Her background in art and design helps homeowners achieve the look and feel they want, and she often paints murals or hand painted themed accents that personalize the home. A good eye for design also helps make the most of the home buyers' budget. "We work with a great architectural designer which was a builder himself for 18 years. His expertise helps us maximize the "wow" factor in creative ways that open up the space and give the illusion that the home is even larger than it really is."

Veronica relates a story about one family who originally planned to build a 4,000-square foot home. "Because their personal situation changed, they made the decision to downsize the plans to a 2,900 square-foot home instead. We modified the plan and added columns, separating two rooms and a catwalk over the living area to open it up. In the end, the home looked much larger than its true size." David House, Vice President of Chateau, came on board after being in residential construction for 25 years. His relationship with the company began when Chateau built his Lake Ridge home in 2000.

Brian and Lori Corley are David House's next-door neighbors. Lori remembers, "We met David and his wife, Nema, as their house was being built because we had purchased the adjoining lot. We were planning on waiting a couple of years to build , but we were impressed with the relationship between the Houses and their builder. You could see that details had been worked out with the architect and the homeowner prior to construction. Interior detailing was perfect for the design of the house. Flat work was designed with their lifestyle in mind. Workmanship was top notch. The builder did not 'disapear' after completion of the project. When we decided to build, we went straight to the same builder-Chateau. We went to Veronica with a design for a house that was above our means. She worked with us on minor changes to the blueprint and position of the house in order to make it affordable to us."Brian Corley adds, "We were delighted to see David House join Chateau. He and Veronica still go out of their way to assist us, even though we have been in our house nearly 3 years. Soon, we hope to add a covered kitchen, patio and storage area. "David will be able to supervise the project from his own backyard".

The team at Chateau Luxury Homes is personally committed to the Lake Ridge and neighboring communities. The Chateau staff volunteers for a local childrens' recreational facility, and sponsors the Cedar Hill Rangers, a local baseball team that competes locally and nationally through the Cedar Hill Baseball Association.

Buyers of luxury custom homes are typically well-informed, experienced consumers with a clear expectation of quality. For them, Chateau fits the bill perfectly. Their commitment to quality craftsmanship is apparent in every home, from fundamental components to minute details. Every foundation is engineered for the particular home site, an especially important factor in Lake Ridge, where there is up to 14 inches of potential flow. Lakeside lots, even those with steep hills or irregular soil composition, are familiar challenges to Chateau, who adheres precisely to the engineered specifications.

Chateau offers custom a raised foundation constructed on materials that actually deteriorate over time and form a void space so there is no mold or other problems commonly associated with a traditional raised pier and beam foundation.

Selecting choice building materials and using proven techniques helps Chateau achieve exceptional quality and lasting value. Seemingly small details, like using screws in sheetrock or metal corners can help the home retain a like-new appearance for years beyond the move in date, adding to it's long term value and protecting the homeowners' investment.

Chateau Luxury Homes also pays special attention to energy efficiency. At the 2003 International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Chateau was recognized with an award  for Energy Efficiency. Again, advanced materials like solar decking, help keep the attic cooler, while foam insulation keeps the interior environment comfortable at all times of the year. Tankless water heaters save energy cost by heating water at the point of demand, as well as conserving water usage, since users get hot water immediately rather than letting water run down the drain while they wait for it to get hot.

Through the years of experience and attentive service to its customers, Chateau has found the keys to to business success. For home buyers, Chateau's good fortune is their good fortune-they reap the rewards of experience in the form of lasting friendships and a home that is a lasting legacy
